Pamela Cuming is a visual artist whose expressive acrylic paintings are filled with emotional resonance and vibrant color. Now based in Taos, her pieces reflect a deep inner world shaped by decades of storytelling, performance, and creative exploration.
Pamela Cuming has exhibited and sold her work along the Colorado Front Range including Lyons, Longmont, Nederland, Niwot, Pearl St. Furniture and Art Gallery. Commissions and sales range from private clients in New Jersey, California, Denver, Virginia, and just recently Taos, NM. She has been featured in Osmosis Gallery in Niwot CO for the past five years and currently shows her work there today.
Pamela started teaching herself how to paint in 2000 just after her son was born. Working primarily with acrylic and sometimes oil, her work suggests a combination of representational with an unruly dab of the abstract. “I attempt to keep freshness, emotion, rawness, imperfection and vibrancy in my work”.
Pamela and her husband Gary Hillman are new to Taos and have been enjoying the beauty and artistic community here since Jan. 2022.
Before relocating to Taos, Pamela built a distinguished career in film, theater, and television. Trained at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City, she began as an actress in off-Broadway productions before becoming a produced screenwriter and director. Her film Downloading Nancy premiered at Sundance and showcased her bold, emotionally complex voice as a storyteller. She currently produces, writes and directs films with her film company; Angel Street Films LLC.
A true renaissance creative, Pamela brings artistic insight and emotional depth to every medium she touches—whether on canvas, on stage, or on screen.
